Daily reflection is important for personal growth and development. Daily reflection allows us to learn from our mistakes. If we don’t take the time to look back and learn what we did and what we can do better, how are we ever going to move passed old behaviors and habits and emotions?
Reflection Once A Year Is Not Enough
Many of us take the time to reflect in the new year. We think about goals we accomplished, what we’d like to change, and how we are going to go about doing it. That’s awesome! However, once a year is not enough to create any sort of momentum in our behavior or in our life where we are continually growing and learning and changing old patterns. With reflection, new ideas emerge, too, because we become open and consciously aware which support us in our decision-making process. Reflection needs to be instilled on a daily basis to see any results.
Self-Reflection Builds Emotional Awareness
Our lives are very busy in today’s world, and every year the speed seems to increase leaving us breathless, thoughtless, at times, and always in the ‘to do’ mode. Daily reflection allows us to slow down and take the time to think about our life; it also supports us in building emotional self-awareness. With self-reflection, we go inward to understand, so we are directly seeing and feeling what is happening. In this place, we are better able to change our emotional and mental state to better deal with what’s happening around us.
