To feel good, one must initiate a habit of intention and choose thoughts and ideas that support feeling good. Without intention, life happens to us. With intention and without action, life will also just happen to us.  Only when we use intention and action together, life is created. “Initiate a habit of choosing thoughts and ideas that support feeling good and powerful, and that elevate you to a higher level of consciousness” Wayne Dyer.

Choosing Vs Movement

Sometimes, however, simply choosing thoughts and feelings is not easy depending on the state you are in. How quick can you move from a state of extreme anger or depression to happiness? Simply thinking thoughts may not get you to the feel good stage fast enough. However, movement can help you feel good faster. Nevertheless, you still must make the choice and choose to feel good and then get moving.

Move Your Body to Shift Your Energy

When you are pissed off or weak and depressed, it’s tough to get up and get moving in a conscious manner. Your mind is definitely wrapped up with other things – you’re not thinking straight. The last thing you want to do is get dressed and get outside especially on a cold day. To feel good, though, you need to do something. One idea would be to change your position such as your posture or facial expressions; shrug your shoulders; shake your arms and body; stretch. These ideas don’t take a lot of effort, but they can shift you from a state of negativity to positivism by moving the heavy energy. It’s a start; that’s the whole point, especially if you are feeling depressed and lethargic. After you mastered the easier steps, then get outside with nature for a walk, breath deep, and stay present.


Mindfulness must also be practiced everyday to feel good. Too many of us, though, go about our days without checking in to see how we feel. Without intention, we flounder wondering what we accomplished. However, no matter what, you FIRST need to make a decision to change something.
